ACGRC conducted the Second Security Forum of Southern Caucasus in
cooperation with German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and with support
from Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Robert Bosch Foundation
On 10 December 2009 H.E. Dr. Patricia Hildegard Flor, Ambassador of the
Federal Republic of Germany in Georgia, organised
a reception on the occasion of the Second Security Forum of Southern
Caucasus. The reception was attended by Temuri
Yakobashvili, (Vice Prime Minister of the Georgian Government and State
Minister for Reintegration), David Jalagania (Deputy Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Georgia), Peter Semneby (Ambassador, EU Special Representative in
South Caucasus), Van Baiburt (Advisor to the President of Georgia),
ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in
Georgia, speakers of the Second Security Forum of Southern Caucasus and
journalists.
On 11 December 2009 ACGRC in cooperation with German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP)
and with support from Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Robert Bosch Foundation
conducted the Second Security Forum of Southern Caucasus at the Courtyard
Marriott Tbilisi Hotel. The Forum brought together a number of distinguished
experts-analysts from the United States of America, Russian Federation,
Ukraine, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Poland, Germany and Armenia.
Welcoming remarks were made by David Rakviashvili (Deputy State Minister for
Reintegration of Georgia), Fredrik Lojdquist (Ambassador, Special Envoy for
Georgia of the Swedish EU Presidency), Katja Christina Plate (Head of the
Regional Programme for Political Dialogue in the South Caucasus, Konrad
Adenauer Foundation), Christian Plate (First Secretary, German Embassy in
Tbilisi, on behalf of H.E. Ambassador of Germany), Dr. Stepan Grigoryan
(Chairman of the ACGRC Board). Keynote speakers of the Forum were: Peter Semneby –
Ambassador, EU Special Representative in South Caucasus, Iris Kempe –
Director, South Caucasus Regional Office, Heinrich Böll Foundation, Orysia
Lutsevych – Development Director, Europe House-Georgia, George Volski –
expert of the International Center for Geopolitical Studies, former Deputy
State Minister on Conflict Resolution Issues, Konstantin Zhgenti – former
Ambassador of Georgia to Austria and Hungary, Aron Buzogany – German Research
Institute for Public Administration Speyer, Rauf Rajabov – Ambassador for
Peace, Head of the informational-analytical agency “3rd view”, Azerbaijan,
David Shahnazaryan – Ambassador, former MP, Head of the Centre of Political

The Forum was attended by ambassadors of Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Hungary, Japan, Romania and Sweden, the Head of the EU Delegation in
Georgia, NATO NLO Caucasus, Deputy Heads of the Missions of Armenia,
Bulgaria, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and Turkey, diplomats
from the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Ukraine and the United States
of America, representatives of SIDA, GMFUS, Friedrich Naumann Foundation,
International Crisis Group, distinguished experts, representatives of Georgian NGOs, journalists and students.
